TEXAS TWP. - A structure fire destroyed Savannah's Inspirational Woodwork and 2 Cousins Construction & Landscape, located at 1128 Route 6, Texas Township, Wayne County, Saturday night.
    State Police, Honesdale, report that the blaze does not appear to be suspicious, but the cause is still under investigation.
    The fire was discovered by passing motorists at around 9:21 p.m. on Saturday, April 12. The fire caused major damage to these two businesses.
    The building affected was known for many years as Blum Furniture. It is located across from the Kwik Joe Mart.
    Sandy and Erich Buehring of Beach Lake, and William and Cynthia Fehringer of Hawley, are listed as the victims.
  The facebook page for Savannah's Inspirational Woodwork contianed the following entry after the fire.
    "As many of you know our retail store located at 1128 Texas Palmyra Hwy Honesdale was destroyed by fire this evening. All Easter orders will be fulfilled on time. Please keep us in prayer as we make decisions on the future."
    2 Cousins Construction & Landscape also issued a statement on their facebook page:
  "Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers as we recover from the tragedy of loosing our showroom to last night's fire. We truly appreciate the support from all of our friends and customers. We are not giving up. Each day is a new beginning and we embrace the challenges that are ahead and keep faith that God will lead us through. We lost our place of business location, but we have our home, our family, our friends, and no one got hurt and that's what's important."
   White Mills Fire Department was in charge at the fire. Chief Mike Batzel said that there was " a great group effort" with aid from Beach Lake, Welcome Lake, Honesdale and Hawley fire companies. He said that the blaze was already through the roof at the first call. Firefighters laid about 1,600 feet of hose to Goyette's pond near the Halfway House.
   Route 6 was down to one lane for a while; Fire Police were controlling traffic.
   No injuries were reported and all businesses were closed at the time of the fire. The Fire Chief stated that the two businesses, Savannah's Inspirational Woodwork and 2 Cousins Construction & Landscape,  were well gutted. Miller's Carpet Gallery had smoke and water damage; other businesses had mainly smoke.
   Batzel said the fire department was on duty till about 1:30 a.m.
