    Accepts WAHS application + letter of acceptance + essay
    Amount:    $800
    Criteria:    Application required-must continue education at vo-tech school/college - copy of letter of acceptance to school - open to students going into nursing, power mechanics, building trades, allied health and food service - A.B.A.T.E. (Alliance of Bikers Aimed Toward Education) is a club about safety & rights - information can be found on- line about the organization - write a short essay about your research of the organization.

    ATTORNEY WM. GUMBLE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
    Accepts WAHS application
    Amount:    $1,000
    Criteria:    Application required -must be Pike County resident- must be accepted at a 2/4 yr college, NOT REQUIRED to study the field of law-awarded to a deserving student in memory of "Bill" Gumble, a beloved attorney who had a great love of law as well as the great outdoors and all Pike County had to offer.

    Criteria:    Application required - must be Pike County resident - demonstrate qualities of leadership, citizenship - NOT RESTRICTED TO STUDENTS PURSUING LEGAL CAREERS - must be in top 20% of the class

    Criteria:    Student must reside in Pike County - awarded to a student who demonstrates a lifelong interest in law-ESSAY on interest in law - student with an additional interest in philosophy and/or theater will be given additional consideration - must be college bound - Bill Rice passed away at age 48 after a courageous battle with cancer, Bill  knew he wanted to be a lawyer since second grade - a student who demonstrates that sort of love for law from early childhood on shall be given great consideration - grades are not a primary factor although a consistent good faith effort put forth shall be viewed as a factor
