EASTERN PIKE - The Pennsylvania State Police want to advise motorists that may
travel on Interstate 84 Eastbound on Saturday, May 3, that there will be a road closure after
the Milford Exit (Exit 46).

Beginning at 7:00 a.m., and lasting approximately three hours, the road will be closed to facilitate the removal of a tractor trailer that was involved in a crash at that location today (Friday) at approximately 5:30 a.m.

The proposed alternate route is Exit 46 Milford, to Route 6 East, to Route 209
North to re-enter Interstate 84 at the Matamoras Exit.

Update: 8:13 a.m.
Both lanes of I-84 in Pike County were closed this morning (Friday) following a six-vehicle crash that caused traffic to be routed though Milford.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation reported I-84 had been closed in both directions between Exit 53 and Exit 46, Between Milford and Westfall.

Just before 8 a.m. the westbound lanes were opened. And at 8:12 a.m., both lanes were opened.

The crash, involving at least one tractor-trailer, happened east of the Milford exit.

Traffic is being directed onto Route 6, turning at the light in Milford and moving down Routes 6/209 in Westfall.

Matamoras Fire Department personnel manually worked the Westfall traffic light to help get detoured drivers back on I-84 at the Westfall exit.

Although first calls about the crash came in around 3:56 a.m., emergency workers were still removing crash victims from vehicles as of 7:30 a.m.

A medical helicopter responded to the crash.
