  • WALLENPAUPACK - During Wallenpaupack North Primary School classroom guidance lessons in 1st and 2nd grade, the students are often shown large pictures.
These pictures are all of thought-provoking situations.  The students are encouraged to tell a story about the picture (what happened before, during and after the picture was taken).  This encourages upper-level thinking skills.
The 2nd graders, in the spring, are all shown the same picture and asked to write a story about it.
Students who were found to have written the four best stories are Erika Badner (Mrs. Schmalzle’s class), Ciara Dennis (Ms. Dutko’s class), Carly Cerciello and Sadie Zagwoski (Mrs. Robin Yost's class).
