  • WAYNE & PIKE - An extended family member of Hunter Pedersen, the 11-year old Wallenpaupack student that was killed Saturday, May 3rd, has started an online fund-raising campaign for the parents' funeral expenses.
The site at fundly.com had collected almost $14,000 as of Tuesday. Hunter's 2nd cousin Bridgette Murray, who is managing the site, stated online that the boy's father had been laid off in April and they had no insurance.
Hunter was the son of Robert and Tammy Pedersen and brother of Kayla and Emma. "Let them mourn and grieve together, and us as their extended family, friends, coworkers, neighbors or just caring strangers raise the funds for the Pedersen family to lay Hunter into eternal peace in the manner a sweet soul such as his deserves," said Murray, at the online site.
Hunter was killed in an apparent accidental shooting while visiting a relative's home at Wild Acres in Delaware Township, Pike County, State Police said.
Hunter was in the 5th grade at the North Intermediate School.
