HAWLEY - The Student of the Month program is one of the longest running of Hawley Rotary’s projects with well over 450 Wallenpaupack students recognized for their volunteer school and community service over the years.  
 The ten 2013-2014 Students of the Month will be recognized on May 15th at the Lakeside Café.
• Madison Simpson, daughter of Colleen and Jim Simpson of Hawley, is the March Hawley Rotary Student of the Month.  A four-year volunteer for Vacation Bible School, Madison also volunteers for the Sojourners Café twice a month, Helping Hands, 30-Hour Famine, the Road to Bethlehem, church choir and a Sunday School helper.  She is a member of the Wayne Choraleers and the Ritz Playhouse.  Madison’s school activities include four years of the following: WAHS Players, set construction, concert choir and the National Honor Society.  She is currently undecided as to which college to attend.

• The April Student of the Month is Emily Lanthier, daughter of Diane Lanthier of Hawley. Her community volunteer activities include Vacation Bible School (three years), tricky trays and an auction for three scholarship funds.  As a WAHS band member, she also took part in Hawley Winterfest and the Relay for Life.  Emily is very involved in many school choirs and bands and was selected for both District and Regional Chorus.  A member of the National Honor Society, Emily plans to attend Temple University majoring in directing and journalism.
