WAYNE COUNTY - The Wayne Ambulance will offer community CPR and AED classes as an opportunity to learn about emergency care training. Whether the training is of the workplace or just a community member, people will learn how to do CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED), that is easy to learn and remember.
Anyone can learn CPR and everyone should. Four out of five cardiac arrests happen at home. Effective bystander CPR, provided immediately after sudden cardiac arrest can double or triple a victim's chance of survival.
Pre-registration is requested but not required. Walk-in participants welcome. There are two dates and two locations to better meet peoples' needs.
On the second Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. there will be training in the Honesdale area, at  Texas #4 fire company, 440 Grove Street, Honesdale. Also, in Lakeville, there will be training on the third Saturday of the month at the Lakeville Fire Company, at 10 Daniels Road at 9 a.m.
The cost is $15.00 per person, which includes certification card. For information or to register contact Pat Hazen, Wayne Ambulance, Community Education for more information. (570) 207-5200 ext. 242 or phazen@wayneambulance.com
