  • POCONOS - Starting May 8, 2014, as close as The News Eagle web site, catch a live view of Lake Wallenpaupack, Woodloch Pines, Bushkill Falls and several other prime spots in the Poconos. Courtesy the Pocono Mountain Visitors Bureau (PMVB), live video feeds are now a click away at this newspaper's online home page.
For several years, PMVB has offered live video feeds on their tourist promotion web site. Several TV station outlets make use of the feeds, particularly on their weather forecasts. The stations include Pix 11, WFMZ-TV 69, NBC 10, NBC 4 New York, CBS 2 WLNY, WNEP-TV 16 and FOX 29.
Live, stationary video cameras are continually offering a window to the following locations:
    • Bushkill Falls, Dingmans Ferry - See one of the large waterfalls as it gently cascades and tumbles over the rocks
    • Lake Wallenpaupack - Inspect the lake, with docks in the foreground and Epply Island in the distance
    • Jim Thorpe, Carbon County - Look at the historic old town nestled in its valley, as seen from a ridge top

One can look and check on apparent weather conditions, see how busy a location is at the moment, and just enjoy nature. One might see a deer or bear walk by, and from a distance see people and vehicles pass, as well as boats in the lake views and other activities.
PMVB, based in Stroudsburg, markets the four county Pocono region of Wayne, Pike, Monroe and Carbon, promoting for tourism. Their web site address is www.800poconos.com.
