  • Historic preservationist to speak at spring buffet

  • HAWLEY -    Wallenpaupack Historical Society’s Spring Buffet at The Settlers Inn. Wallenpaupack Historical Society announces its annual Spring Buffet at The Settlers Inn, Hawley, will be held on Friday, May 23 at 6 p.m.
         Presenting will be noted Milford preservationist Richard Snyder on historic preservation, the endeavor to protect historical buildings from demolition or disrepair and to preserve the historic fabric of our communities.
         Dick Snyder is the current treasurer of the Historic Preservation Trust of Pike County and is co-owner of Hotel Fauchere, built 1880, and the Historic Milford School House, built in 1904 from locally-quarried bluestone.
         Reservations for the event are $30.00 per person, including a cash bar, 7 p.m. dinner, and 8 p.m. presentation. All are welcome. Please make your reservation by sending a check payable to Wallenpaupack Historical Society for $30.00 per person attending to Nancy Gumble, PO Box 303, Tafton PA 18464, with the names of the people attending. Reservations requested by May 16.
