  • BLOOMING GROVE - PA State Police at the Blooming Grove barracks on Route 402 will be offering a free child safety seat check, Saturday, May 31. Parents or caregivers may bring the child safety seat between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
This check is being done as part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's "Click It or Ticket" campaign.
"Child safety seats save lives, but only when they are installed and used properly," said State Police Commissioner Frank Noonan. "Using these seats properly is an absolute must for everyone and ensuring the safety of our most precious cargo must be our first priority every time we get behind the wheel."
Nearly 73 percent of child restraints are not installed or used correctly.
Another child safety seat check is being hosted by the PA State Police at the same date and time frame, at P & R Discount in Eynon.
All parents and caregivers are urged to attend a child safety seat check to insure that their child's safety seat is properly installed. Certified Child Passenger Safety Seat Technicians will inspect and assist with making any corrections. They will also help to educate the public on the proper seat to use.
