HONESDALE - There’s a new prize in this year’s Honesdale Roots & Rhythm Music & Arts Festival raffle amidst an already-stellar lineup of traditionally donated goods. Day passes and tickets for two to the Wayne County Fair’s 2014 concert event, Craig Campbell and Eric Paslay, comprise one of seven prizes being offered this year.
Raffle tickets officially went on sale on Saturday, May 24th.
“We have awesome prizes this year,” says Raffle Coordinator Ruth Dunn, “Besides the Wayne County fair tickets, we are raffling off a 14-carat gold and diamond peace necklace from Jerry Land Jewelers and a Telecaster guitar, hand-painted by local artist Jeff George.”
Other raffle prizes include a $500 cash prize, a five-day stay at a beautiful cabin in Maine courtesy of Hunt Signs, a 32-inch flat screen TV courtesy of Music & Video Express, and two flex tickets for the Wildflower Music Festival at Dorflinger-Suydam Sanctuary in White Mills.
The 9th annual Roots & Rhythm Music & Arts festival kicks off along Main Street, Honesdale, around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 21st, and moves to the stage in Central Park at 1:30 p.m.  Raffle tickets will be sold throughout the day of the free event, but they can be purchased right now at Bold’s Garden Center, R3 Hardware, Trackside Restaurant, Apple Day Spa, MoJo Music, Nature’s Grace and Motion Physical Therapy.
Tickets are $5 each or 6 for $25.
“Since this is a free festival, put on by generous sponsors and dedicated volunteers, we are especially grateful to the business owners who donated prizes,” says Randy Kohrs, festival chair and musiccoordinator. “This is our only fundraiser to support the festival, so come on out and buy a ticket. You could win a great prize!”
The headliner for this year’s festival is Commander Cody  (“Hot Rod Lincoln”) and His Modern Day Airmen. For more information about the bands, the raffle and more at this free event, visitwww.honesdalerootsandrhythmcom.
