WAYNE & PIKE - The Wallenpaupack Area School District recently conducted its annual spring Local History trip throughout the northern end of the school district. Over 30 people enjoyed the opportunity to delve into history, heritage and culture of the area.
   The journey was led by Tom Kennedy, former Wallenpaupack school administrator, who provided a running commentary. Places visited included: Lakeville one-room schoolhouse, currently maintained by the Hemlock Hollow School Association; sites in downtown Hawley including the D& H Canal, PCC gravity railroad, Erie Railroad, Borough Hall and Hawley Library; Dorflinger/Suydam Wildlife Sanctuary in White Mills; travel along the D&H towpath and the Roebling Bridge in Lackawaxen.
