A family operation, the concession is run by Leon Carachilo, of Hawley. Among his helpers are his daughter Melissa Hartman and husband Donald Hartman and their son Ryan. Leon said he has been in the fair concession business 37 years, traveling the northeast from April through November.
Leon's wife Barbara was operating another concession stand at the same time, at a fair in the Reading area. They have five concession trailers in all. Leon also is a PPL utility contractor.
