HONESDALE -  Gary F. Kroll, age 32, of Salem Township, on June 27th pleaded No Contest before President Judge Raymond L. Hamill to charges of rape and related accounts involving children.
He faces possible life in prison when  he is sentenced.
     Specifically, Kroll pled to three counts of Rape of a Child, a felony of the first degree and one count of Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a Child, a felony of the first degree.  He also pled to one count of Corruption of Minors, a misdemeanor of the 1st degree.
    These crimes occurred over a period of years and involved four female children under the age of 13,  Janine Edwards, Wayne County District Attorney, reported.  
     Kroll is scheduled to be sentenced on October 9, 2014.   Kroll faces a sentence of up to 145 years in prison and up to $110,000.00 in fines.  The applicable mandatory minimum sentence total is 30 years in prison.
      Kroll must register as a sex offender for his lifetime pursuant to SORNA (Adam Walsh/Megan’s Law). Kroll will be evaluated prior to sentencing by the Sexual Offender Assessment Board to determine whether he meets the criteria to be designated a “sexually violent predator.”
