NEWFOUNDLAND - The Newfoundland Area Ambulance Association has invited community members to join them for an open house on Sunday July 13 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Community support and a grant from the state enabled the Association to complete some much needed building renovations.
Phyllis Jones, who is on the Board, stated that their station is more energy efficient and a new generator will help them aid the public should the need arise.
This is the first renovations since the building was built in 1971. Light refreshments will be served. "Hope to see you there," Mrs. Jones stated.
Their building is located at 441 Crestmont Drive, across the street and just above the Greene-Dreher fire station. Their ambulance that was in the Greene-Dreher Volunteer Fire Association parade on July 6th, earned the trophy for "Best Appearing Ambulance" in the parade competition.
The volunteer ambulance association went into service in 1969. New volunteer EMTs and First Responders are welcome.
