LACKAWAXEN - Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River is seeking people who would like to make a difference and participate in a river clean-up.  Everyone is invited to join Park Rangers on Sunday, July 27th as they paddle down the river plucking litter from the shoreline as well as from the river bottom.
"This is great fun for the whole family as well as for groups of friends." said Park Service officials. The clean-up area will cover six miles and should last approximately five hours.
This river clean-up will run from the Ten Mile River Access down to the Lackawaxen Access.  Paddlers are asked to meet at the Zane Grey Museum in Lackawaxen at 9 a.m.
The National Park Service will provide the vehicle shuttle, canoes, lifejackets, and paddles.  They will be carrying out this activity rain or shine.  You should expect to get wet, so please be prepared with the appropriate gear including extra clothing, proper footwear, sunscreen, plenty of water, a hat, and a lunch.
This year’s river clean-up is limited to the first 20 who register.  For more information or to sign up for the Summer Paddle and River Clean-Up call 570-685-4871 by Saturday, July 26.
If you can’t make this river clean-up another one is planned for Saturday, August 16th.  This clean-up will run from Hancock, NY to the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission Buckingham Access, a five mile stretch.
