Suspect nabbed in 2nd truck stop robbery

BLOOMING GROVE TWP. - A suspect was arrested by State Police, Blooming Grove after attempting to rob the Lords Valley Xtra Mart, Wednesday night, July 16.
   The incident was only two nights after a successful robbery at the Promised Land Truck Stop. State Police have not indicated any link between the two crimes.
    At 11:06 p.m., July 16, a man entered the Xtra Mart and allegedly brandished a pistol, demanding the store employee to hand over money from the cash register. The actor was not able to steal any money before fleeing the scene on foot, said Trooper Jordan Sandlin.
   The clerk positively identified the actor as an acquaintance, Wayne Pitner of Dingman Township. This aided State Police in locating and arresting the actor. Pitner is being charged with Robbery and Terroristic Threats.
    Lords Valley Xtra Mart is located on Route 739 just off Interstate 84.

Truck stop robbed

    PALMYRA TWP. (Pike) - An armed robber got away from Promised Land Truck Stop Monday night July 14, with around $1,000 in cash.
   State Police, Blooming Grove report that the unknown white  male entered the store at 11:29 p.m. The truck stop is located on Route 390 just north of Exit 26, Interstate 84.
    The man was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants, a gray ski mask and gloves. The individual was brandishing a hand gun and demanded money from the employees. After taking the money, the perpetrator ran through the store and out the back door. It is believed that he fled north on Route 390.
   He is described as being approximately six feet tall with a slim build.
   Trooper Michael Mulvey asked that anyone with information to call the barracks at 570-226-5718.
