  • Elwood "Woody" Krum, age 92, of Lakeville died Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Bethany Village.
    He was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, the former Margaret Emma Seila, in 2014. 

Born May 11, 1922, in Lehighton, PA, he was the son of the late John J. and Maria (Robertshaw) Krum.

  • Elwood "Woody" Krum, age 92, of Lakeville died Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Bethany Village.
    He was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, the former Margaret Emma Seila, in 2014. 

Born May 11, 1922, in Lehighton, PA, he was the son of the late John J. and Maria (Robertshaw) Krum.
    He had attended New York University. During World War II he served in the Coast Guard from 1942 to 1945. 

He retired in 1982 after working in various positions for Lehigh Valley, Penn Central and Conrail Railroads for 40 years. Although he had been a Lakeville resident for 50 years, he had formerly lived in Lehighton, PA and Brooklyn, NY. He was a member of the American Legion and the Elks while he was living in Lehighton.
    

He is survived by one daughter: Sharon Rago and her husband Nick of Basking Ridge, NJ; five grandchildren: Kristen Rago Emmel of Boonton, NJ, Nick Rago Jr. of Bridgewater, NJ, Sherry Krum Mickle of Dinwiddie, VA, Terri Krum Gibbs of Palmerton, PA, and Tim Krum of Union, OH; as well as 11 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by a son, Elwood (Jack) Krum. 


    Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Ken Platt of Wallenpaupack Free Methodist Church officiating. Private cremation will be held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel. Burial of his and his wife's urns will be held together at a later date at Washington's Crossing National Cemetery.
