LAKE REGION - There will be a Special Kids Network (SKN) meeting Thursday, July 31, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the cafeteria at Wallenpaupack High School.
The meeting is meant to be a chance for youth, families, caregivers, professionals and the public to join together and share thoughts about on-going needs, challenges, struggles in the community.
SKN meetings are a chance to respond to issues that children and youth with special health care needs  have.
The meetings also offer facilitated opportunities for affected members of the community to
come together to discuss identified issues and to collectively apply available resources to improve
service coordination, systems integration and enhancement.
As part of the meetings, there is the chance to connect with and engage community people that are available and committed to work with people to resolve and improve special health care needs, service issues and challenges in communities.
During the meeting there will be brainstorming activities and refreshments. Parents and families are encouraged to attend along with youth and professionals.
For clarification, the July 31 meeting is a Special Kids Network meeting and not a Parent Youth Professional Forum (PYPF).
The next PYPF will be September 30 in Monroe County. At a PYPF, there are no speakers, but a chance for to work together as a community to reach a common goal.
