  • LAKE REGION - The adage “some things get better with age” is certainly true, not just of antiques, but also the 45th Annual Antique Show & Sale hosted by the tri-county dealers association of Wayne, Pike (PA) & Sullivan County (NY), said organizers.
The two-day 2014 event promises to be better than ever when it opens on Saturday, August 2nd and continues on Sunday, August 3rd.   The scenic shores of beautiful Lake Wallenpaupack  will once again provide the backdrop for the annual show and sale, and the venue will be the bright and airy Wallenpaupack Area High School located along Route 6, just one mile east of Hawley, with hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
Quality dealers from throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic will once again be on hand with an extensive and varied array of merchandise – from art pottery, painting and prints, vintage linens and clothing, jewelry, furniture, paper items, glassware from depression to elegant to art glass, plus brilliant American cut glass.
There is a collecting category for everyone, so whether you are a veteran antiquer or just starting out, this is a great place to shop.  Many dealers return to this exhibit year after year, and set aside special items to be offered.  Jack Dakey and Rosemary Fritz, hailing from northeastern PA and Allentown, for example, always have a number of excellent examples of Dorflinger glass available, along with other pieces of highly desirable cut glass.  Many participants specialize in selected categories, while others offer a  “general” line of wares.  Visitors can expect to fnd vintage clothes, linens, and textiles, art pottery, depression glass, furniture, paintings and prints, and always something eclectic.
Show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days with a nominal admission fee of $6.00 per person – proceeds benefit historical, educational, and preservation efforts and organizations in the tri-state area WPSADA serves.
"There is plenty of free parking, the venue is air conditioned, and good food will be available – so come and make a day of it," said organizers.
