MILFORD TWP. - State Police, Blooming Grove, identified the victim of a fatal crash July 22nd on Route 6 to be Robert A. Cornelius, 64, of Milford.
   The crash occurred at 2:03 p.m. Cornelius appeared to have a medical episode, police said, as his pickup truck headed eastbound. The 2002 Ford F-150 crossed the other lane and traveled 147 feet through the grass before reentering the roadway. Exiting the other side, the truck went another 46 feet and struck a group of small trees. The truck came to rest with moderate damage in front.
   Trooper Kevin Varcoe said that the driverwas deceeased but had no apparent injuries as a result of the crash. He was wearing a seat belt. Witnesses stated that the driver did not appear to be responsive as the truck went out of control.
    Coroner Kevin Stroyan pronounced Cornelius deceased at the scene.

•••Three vehicle crash, I-84
WESTFALL TWP. - A 2011 Chevrolet HHR and two tractor trailers were involved in a crash on Interstate 84 near Exit 53, Pike County, Thursday evening, July 24. This is the first exit (Matamoras) after crossing the bridge from New York State.
  The area is curently a construction zone with only one lane of travel.
  Injuries were rated by State Police as minor.
   State Police, Blooming Grove report that at 8:40 p.m., Christopher Aubrey, age 36, of Templeton, CA, was in the exit lane driving the Chevrolet HHR when the vehicle suddenly swerved back into the westbound lane of travel.
   The Chevrolet impacted the right rear of a 2015 Freightliner causing the Chevrolet to lose control. The truck driver of a 2007 Freightliner, also going west, tried to avoid striking the Chevrolet, and impacted the attenuator located between the westbound lane of travel and the off-ramp to Exit 53. The 2007 rig did strike the Chevrolet, which was forced into the concrete barrier separating the east and westbound lanes.
   The Chevrolet and the 2007 rig came to rest in the westbound lane; they had major damage and had to be towed away. The 2015 rig had only moderate damage and was able to safely exit the roadway a short distance away. This rig was repaired at the scene.
The crash resulted in the interstate being closed for approximately three hours.
Aubrey and his passenger Patricia Stacy, 36, both of Templeton, and 2007 Freightliner driver Susan D. Karichner, 58, and passenger Terry Karichner, 56, both of Linden, PA were taken to Bon Secours Hospital in Port Jervis, NY.
Richard J. Prokop Jr., 53, of Walden, New York, who was driving the 2015 Freightliner, was not injured.
Westfall Township Fire & Rescue assisted at the scene.

PAUPACK TWP. - A chainsaw was found in the roadway along State Route 590 near Avoy Road, Paupack Township, Saturday July 26. This was at 1 p.m.
State Police, Honesdale report that the owner may contact the barracks at 570-253-7126 with the appropriate indentifying information in order to claim it.
••• Noisy fireworks
LACKAWAXEN TWP. - Robert Fletcher, a 42 year old Greeley resident, was cited for making unreasonable noise using fireworks.
State Police, Blooming Grove reported that the incident occurred July 27th at 10 p.m. on the 100 block of Foxtail Road. Fletcher received a summary citation for Disorderly Conduct.
••• Tired driver cited
MILFORD TWP. - State Police, Blooming Grove, report that Andrew I. Repenning, 27, of Milford, was fatigued when the car he operated crashed into a tree. The accident occurred July 28th at 12:22 p.m., along Route 6/209 in Milford Township.
Repenning was traveling south near Zebulon Place when the 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt veered off the roadway and hit the tree. Repenning suffered minor injuries and the vehicle received disabling damage. He was using his seat belt.
Trooper Shawn Smith said that the driver was cited for his contribution to this crash.
••• Boat battery
   SALEM TWP. - Someone stole a battery from a pontoon boat at the Indian Rocks Marina on Lake Wallenpaupack, between July 20 and July 24, State Police, Honesdale reports.
   An Interstate Deep Cycle battery was taken during the week while the victim, a man from out of the area, was away. No damage was done to the boat. Trooper Jamison Warner asked that anyone with information to call the State Police at 570-253-7126.
••• Theft of PPL wiring
 PAUPACK TWP. - Approximately 100 pounds of copper wiring was stoolen from the PPL power line right-of-way at the substation in Paupack Township. State Police, Honesdale said that the theft occurred between 6 p.m. July 23rd and 8 a.m., July 25th.
  The wiring was taken from the job site where it was clamped to the power line for safety grounding purposes. The wire is yellow coated, 5-aught (2.04 inches).
