WHITE MILLS - Maureen McGovern is set to appear in concert at the Wildflower Music Festival, White Mills, Saturday night, August 9.
   This celebrated, two-time Grammy nominated singer/actress will grace the Wildflower stage with her fabulous “Stradivarius Voice” in a performance titled “The Long and Winding Road.” Her famous hits from the 70s include the #1 Oscar-winning International Gold Record, “The Morning After” from the movie The Poseidon Adventure, the lyrical “Can You Read My Mind” from Superman, and the Oscar winning “We May Never Love Like This Again” from The Towering Inferno.
      In 2005, Ms. McGovern was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for her acting role as Marmee in Little Women, The Musical on Broadway. She has performed on Broadway with performers such as Raul Julia and Sting, and in national touring company musicals since 1981, and is currently performing her IRNE Award-winning “Best Solo Performance” one-woman musical memoir “Carry It On.”
    The 6 p.m. performance carries a special ticket price of $29. The Wildflower Amphitheater is located on the grounds of the Dorflinger-Suydam Wildlife Sanctuary in White Mills.
