  • Coulby James Dunn, 66, of Greentown, went on to be with the Lord on August 9th, 2014 after a valiant battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.
Coulby was born in Rockville Centre, Long Island on January 13th 1948 to Joan and John Dunn. Coulby graduated from St. Johns University with a degree in Political Science and went on to receive a Masters in Public Administration from Marywood University.
Coulby was a decorated combat veteran of Vietnam. He received two Bronze Stars and was a paratrooper in all three Airborne Divisions.
Following his service in the military, Coulby went on to become a professional tennis player, playing with the likes of Rod Laver, John Newcomb, and Roy Emerson. Shortly after marrying Lynda, the newlyweds traveled to the Pocono region and ended up camping on Brink Hill. They fell in love with the peacefulness and beauty and built their dream home on the very site they camped. Together, they lived and raised their family in that home for 38 years.

Of his many achievements, Coulby was the owner/operator of Mountain View Homes and Mountain View Realty for the last 35 years. He was a true Civic Leader, serving on the American Red Cross, the Wallenpaupack School Board, the Wallenpaupack Watershed Management Board, was a three time Past President of the Board of Realtors, and Past President of the Pike County Builders Association.

Coulby believed in the greatness of America and the dedication of our warriors. He was a true Patriot who spoke at various Veteran Ceremonies and was responsible for multiple Veteran Memorials around the Pocono Region. Coulby truly embodied God, Service, and Country.

Of his greatest achievements was that of a husband and father. Coulby was a loving husband to Lynda Dunn for 44 years and together they have three children, Coulby, Matthew, and Laura. Matthew, with his wife Anne-Marie, blessed Coulby with three grandchildren, Brayden, Aston, and Shane.

For those that knew Coulby well, he had an eternal optimism and zeal for life that was second to none. Coulby was a larger than life character with a sense of humor that could light up any room. He has left an extraordinary legacy that will last for generations to come.
