HAWLEY - The following reports were provided to Hawley Council for the month of July 2014, for Hawley Borough Police, Hawley Ambulance & Rescue Company and Hawley Fire Department.

••• Hawley Police

    Hawley Police cases included: Burglary, 1; Criminal Mischief, 2;  Disorderly Conduct, 3; Domestic Disputes, 1; Harassment, 3; Narcotics 2; Theft, 1. Officers issued five traffic citations, one non-traffic citation and three traffic warnings. Two arrests were made. There was one assist made to other jurisdictions and a total of 81 of all other incidents.
    The three patrol vehicles covered 1,749 miles. Hours on duty included 342 in Hawley Borough and 32 in Palmyra Township (Wayne).

••• Hawley Ambulance

   Hawley Ambulance & Rescue Company handled 40 calls, traveled 2,853 miles and logged 307 hours. There were 14 calls in Hawley Borough, 11 in Palmyra Township (Wayne) and 15 assisting other companies: Paupack Wayne Ambulance, 6; Texas Twp. White Mills Fire EMS, 4; Tafton Ambulance, 3; Lackawaxen, 2.

   Hawley Fire Department responded to 16 calls; eight were in Hawley Borough, six in Palmyra Township (Wayne) and two assisted Tafton Fire Company in Palmyra Township (Pike). Note, they had a 13 day stretch in mid-July without any emergency calls:
• July 1, 1:53 p.m., car out of gas at 310 Bellemonte Avenue
• July 3, 6:44 p.m., tree branch on wires with arching, 773 Hudson Street
• July 3, 7:56 p.m., set up generator at Urgent Care for traffic light at Main & Hudson
• July 4, 8:30 p.m., small brush fire at 23 Texas/Palmyra Highway
• July 5, 2 p.m., searched for person having a medical issue, 1565 Purdytown Tpk. Searched overlook. Person found walking out of the trail.
• July 8, 9:11 p.m., lightning struck tree and started brush, grass fire, 100 Keystone Street
• July 9, 10:40 p.m., smoke detector set off by dust from cutting concrete, 314 Chestnut Avenue
• July 9, 3:25 p.m.,  tree down on wires, road closed, 68 Rocky View Drive
• July 10, 8:32 a.m., car vs. motorcycle, Texas/Palmyra Highway
• July 23, 7:38 p.m.,  automatic carbon monoxide alarm, Whispering Pines. Assisted Tafton Fire Co. in searching house, nothing found
• July 23, 6:45 p.m., smoke detector set off by burnt food, 522 Spring Street
• July 24, 4:44 p.m., car left parking lot at 209 Main Avenue leaving behind gasoline from a leak
• July 26, 3:34 a.m., assisted Tafton Fire Co. with automatic alarm from smoke detector set off by bunt food, 110 Lakeshore Road
• July 27, 11:41 a.m., landing zone set up at Bingham Park for medical transport helicopter
• July 28, 6:43 p.m., lifting assistance to ambulance company for person over embankment on fire station property, 17 Columbus Avenue.
