NARROWSBURG, NY - On Sunday August 31st the Delaware Valley Chamber Orchestra partners with local businesses to present Narrowsburg Music Day, a series of music events taking place on and near Main Street, Narrowsburg:
    At 2 p.m., a free open-air concert by the Joe Piela Band will take place on the Main Street deck in Narrowsburg.  Overlooking the Big Eddy by the Eagle Observatory, pianist Joe Piela will be joined by Chacho Ramirez on drums, Tony DeCicco on bass, and Carolyn on flute.  The concert is sponsored by Narrowsburg Electric.
   At 7:30 p.m. in Tusten Theatre, the 24th annual Music of Our Time concert will showcase Emerald Trio -- Karen Bogardus, flutes, Orlando Wells, violin and viola, Matthew Castle, piano.   Emerald Trio received first prize in the Continuo Arts Foundation Carnegie Hall Debut Competition in 2010. Their concert in Tusten Theatre will include an astounding arrangement by Mr. Castle of Stravinsky’s “Firebird Suite,” world premieres of new works by Kevin Vertrees and Larry Lockwood, plus works by Mr. Castle and Carolyn Steinberg.

   At 9 p.m., live music continues across the street at Gerard’s River Grill, where the house band (led by Bob Lohr, bass) will host several local jazz musicians.  Enjoy the post-concert reception and light dinner menu as the singer Sandra Toll, pianist Kevin Vertrees, and drummer Chacho Ramirez help bring Narrowsburg Music Day to close.
