Regarded as the premier Wildlife Art and Craft Event in the Pocono Mountains, the 26th Annual Audubon Festival will be held July 16th and 17th at the Wallenpaupack School complex near Hawley.
Thirty of the Nation’s finest wildlife and nature artists, as well as several European nature artists and photographers will be presenting their best work for your enjoyment or purchase. Eighty juried craftsmen will be demonstrating and selling their works, as well.
The Audubon Festival provides an educational, fun filled opportunity for young people to learn and experience many of nature's mysteries.  The Delaware Valley Raptor Center will have live raptors - hawks, owls and falcons on site. Bats, skunks, raccoons, snakes and a variety of other wildlife can be seen up close and personal under the oversight of experts. The Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation Center will present live animals and an entertaining presentation on the animals and their behavior, and The Binghamton Zoo will bring a variety of animals, for people to observe close up, and ask the experts questions. Unusual interactive presentation Presentations will be made about our PA State Parks and Forestlands by expert Marcie Mowry, President of the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundations.
There will be free conservation literature, hand-crafted door prizes, a nature film festival, nature center exhibits, and plenty of home-made food.
Funds raised at the Festival help to provide environmental scholarships to students in the area, conservation programs to schools and community organizations, nature books to schools and libraries, grants to local and international environmental groups and maintain two wetlands in Wayne County.
This is an indoor air-conditioned event with plenty of free parking.
