The resignation of School Director John Wladar, at the September Delaware Valley School Board meeting, led to some quick planning by the remaining eight members.

Following school code guidelines, President Bob Goldsack asked for interested parties to submit resumes which would be reviewed by the Board, the school district said in a statement.

During the September Board meeting several people did express interest and by the cut-off date seven people had submitted resumes and were on the list to be interviewed by the Board.

On Oct. 2, the following people met with the Board and were interviewed: Mary Gordon, William Greenlaw, Sue Schor, Jack Fisher, Bernard Marasa, Dense Fey and college student, Ryan Balton, who was conference called from Syracuse University.

According to the release, Goldsack thanked all the candidates for their interest and was impressed with the wide range of backgrounds and diversity or experience. “Whichever candidate is chosen by the Board, the result will be a terrific addition to the Board,” said Goldsack.

At the Oct. 23, Board meeting at the Shohola Elementary School, the chosen candidate will be placed on the agenda and dully sworn in as DV Board Member.
