Several area firework displays and parades are being offered for your Fourth of July enjoyment:
• Downtown Carbondale Celebration, July 3, live entertainment, refreshments and games, 6 pm, fireworks at 9:30 pm City Hall, Main St.;
• Lake Ariel Fire Hall Fireworks, July 4, at dusk at the Lake, SR 191;
• Grace Church in Honesdale, will offer a service of Holy Communion at 10 am, July 4, at the corner of Church and Ninth Streets. The public is invited to attend. For information, call the Church at 253-2760;
• Honesdale Central Park Fireworks, and Concert, July 3, 5:30 pm, with the Pharm, followed by the All Star Dixieland and the Crystal Band. Fireworks at dusk. Food and fun;
• Hawley First Night, July 4, Main Street, 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Music, crafts, vendors, events, and fun;
• Fourth of July Fireworks, July 4, shores along Lake Wallenpaupack, dusk. Free;
• “Old Fashioned Fourth of July Picnic,” July 4 from 12 noon till 4 pm at the Milford Legion Post. Fun, food and games for the whole family. Tickets are $10 each and are available at the Legion or from a Legion Member;
• Pleasant Mount Parade, July 4, 10 am from North Road to Meredith Park. Veteran’s Tribute 11 am. At 12 noon is a Chicken BBQ at the Pleasant Mount Fire Hall, Puppet show at Library with games, food and old-fashioned rootbeer floats;
• Narrowsburg, NY Fire Dept. Celebration, July 5, 3 pm with a parade down Main St., Cruizin with Ricky Z at 4 pm, Chicken BBQ from 4 to 6 pm and live music on Main Street from 7 to 9 pm, followed by fireworks;
• Firemen’s 4th of July Picnic and Parade Weekend, July 5 and 6, Greene-Dreher Volunteer Fire Assoc., Newfoundland. Clams, burgers, beer, pizza, clam chowder, french fries, hot dogs, soda, pretzels, prizes, dancing and more. Live entertainment by McWilliam’s Brothers;
• North Pocono Minisink Lions Club Fireworks, July 5, live entertainment. Gates open at 6 pm. Fireworks at dusk at the North Pocono High School, SR 690, Moscow. Free.
