MAB Hosts Car Wash to Benefit DV Kiwanis Club

Saturday, May 24 from 10 am to 2 pm have your car washed for $5 and join Milford Auto Body support the future of our children through the Kiwanis Club of Delaware Valley. The car wash will be held at the Sunshine Station on Route 6 & 209, just outside of Milford, across the street from Luhrs. All proceeds generated that afternoon will be donated to the organization.

The friendly staff from Milford Auto Body and members of the Kiwanis Club will spend the afternoon washing cars to raise money for the nonprofit organization that is dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.

“Times are tough right now — the economy is slow and many people are struggling, especially families with children,” said Milford Auto Body owner, Anthony Farula. “I am glad that I have the opportunity to help out this organization that is vested in the education and growth of children of all ages because they are going to grow up and change the world — they are our future.”

Starting in June, Milford Auto Body will continue to express their compassion for the community by launching their first discount program called “CASE” — Care About Seniors Everyday. The CASE program will give senior citizens a 10% discount on body repairs — excluding insurance work.

Taking an active stand to help not only the young, but also the young at heart, Milford Auto Body is aiming to make at least one aspect in senior citizen’s lives a little less expensive. With the CASE program, the body shop hopes to enable those living on a fixed income to be able to afford to have much needed body repairs done.

Located at 839 Route 6 in Shohola, Milford Auto Body is a long time business of the area, specializing in auto body repair with state-of-the-art equipment. Active in the community, supporting Delaware Valley School District’s sports and tricky trays, as well as various other organizations like the Shohola Fire Department, Milford Auto Body prides itself on being proactive in the well being of the community and all that reside within it. The Kiwanis Club of Delaware Valley has been in existence since February 2, 2006 and chartered in April 2006. The association is proud of their service and leadership programs for children and happens to be the only organization that addresses children of all ages with the mission of not only serving their community, but also building leadership within their community. Some of their programs include “Terrific Kids” which includes and the “BUG Program” (Bring Up Grades) for elementary school children; “The Builders Club” for middle school children; the “Key Club” for high school children; and “Circle K Club” for college students.

Currently the Kiwanis Club of Delaware Valley Elementary Schools and is working on opening a ‘Builders Club’ in the Delaware Valley Middle Schools.

Over the last two years, The Kiwanis Club has sponsored many events including, a pizza party for GAIT volunteers and an annual Halloween Party for underprivileged children, as well as read to children in various child care facilities, donated money to various organizations like the Ecumenical Food Pantry. They also donated to The Child Death Review Team to help them purchase a Skid-Monster for student drivers. The Club also awards two $500 scholarships to graduating Delaware Valley High School students each year.
