HAWLEY - Hawley Borough Police recently took delivery of a 2013 Ford Explorer, “Interceptor” police vehicle. Cp. Aaron Bertholf stands next to the vehicle in front of Borough Hall, Feb. 16th. Chief Daniel Drake said that they are replacing a 2002 Ford Explorer and also plan to replace a 2008 Chevrolet Impala. The Interceptor cost the borough $10,500 plus delivery. It was purchased from a law enforcement agency in Minnesota. Hawley Borough paid for it from their budget, with assistance from Palmyra Township (Wayne), which has a contract for police services. The Explorer body was recently detailed by Visual Expressions. The part-time Hawley Police Department consists of nine officers, and three vehicles.
