HONESDALE  - The Stourbridge Line will be running train excursions for President’s Day Weekend.

Excursions are planned Saturday, Feb. 18 at 1 p.m.,; Sunday, Feb. 19 at 1 p.m. and Monday, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m.

All cars have heat and on-board restrooms.

Saturday

The Saturday run is the “Wonderland Limited” and goes to Lackawaxen and back. Board at Honesdale at 1 p.m. or Hawley at 1:45. From Honesdale this is a 3.5 hour round trip; from Hawley, almost two hours.

Adult tickets are $25 (ages 13 and older); junior tickets $15 (ages 12 and under) and no charge of age 2 or younger (lap seat only).

Sunday

Sunday’s excursion, called the “Pocono Express” goes from Honesdale to Hawley and back in just over 1.5 hours. Board at Honesdale.

Adult tickets are $20 (ages 13 and older); junior tickets $10 (ages 12 and under) and no charge of age 2 or younger (lap seat only).

Monday

Ride the “President’s Day Limited” on Monday.  Travel to Lackawaxen and back. Board at Honesdale at 10 a.m. or Hawley at 10:45. From Honesdale this is a 3.5 hour round trip; from Hawley, almost two hours.

The name of the excursion comes from the Stourbridge Lion, the first locomotive to operate on a commercial track, which occurred in Honesdale, Pa., August 8, 1829.
