HAWLEY - There will be a Drug Take Back Event at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church on Sunday April 23 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
This event will allow people to surrender prescription medications to a law enforcement officer, for disposal.
“The congregation wanted to do something to help people to legally dispose of unused prescription medications,” said Leslie Dennis. “We thought, given all the news about how medications are polluting our environment, we decided to do it during Hawley's Earth Fest.”
St. Paul's is located at 405 Church St., Hawley, at the corner with Maple Avenue. From Main Avenue, turn at Hotel Belvidere; the church is at the next corner on the same block.
Proper disposal of medicines and legal, household drugs is regulated and promoted by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
