WAYNE COUNTY - Archangel Airborne hosts its “5th Annual Community Outreach Day” at Cherry Ridge Airport, 30 Bomber Lane (just off the Owego Turnpike), west of Honesdale, on Saturday, July 15. Events will take place at TML Aircraft’s hangar.
Organizers described it as a fun-filled day for the entire family from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. featuring plane rides, flight simulator, raffles, demonstrations, live entertainment by Rare Form, food and more.
A $1 donation is requested. All event proceeds benefit Archangel Airborne, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Last year’s crowd pleasing aerial demonstration by the T-34 Mentors are expected to return.
“This is a great opportunity to meet the people behind Archangel Airborne while enjoying the various events for all ages,” stated Sheryl G. Kayser, Event Coordinator. “It’s also an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of a local, community airport,” she concluded.
Archangel Airborne conducts humanitarian special operations. The all-volunteer task force utilizes aviation resources to effectively insert specialty teams, advisors, critical supplies and equipment into areas of poverty, instability, and disaster.
Archangel Airborne has been deploying resources to Haiti to alleviate suffering and sustain dignity since 2010. The outfit also supports disabled veterans here at home in connection with Veterans Airlift Command.
