Donald “DJ” Jahn, beloved husband of JoAnn Jahn, passed into eternal peace on June 26, 2017 at the age of 69.
DJ was born in Teaneck, NJ on Feb 9, 1948 to Fred and Alberta Jahn, the youngest of four sons. From an early age, he worked at the family restaurant, Woodcliff Manor. He was General Manager of The Tuxedo Club before establishing Roebling Inn on the Delaware in 1985 where he was the warm-hearted innkeeper.
His greatest interests included the Annual Lackawaxen Tree Lighting, promoting the Upper Delaware region, anti-bullying efforts, fishing, and all things Hawaiian. He is remembered by friends and family as always putting others first, and taking pleasure from seeing others happy. He was a devoted father and loving husband, and a kind and compassionate man who strived to live the Golden Rule.
His greatest blessing was being father to his son, Michael. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, JoAnn Jahn, son Michael Jahn and fiancé Kaitlin Chase of Wake Forest NC, and brother Robert Jahn of Park Ridge NJ. He was predeceased by brothers Arthur and Frederick. A funeral service will be held at St. Mary’s Church in the village of Lackawaxen, PA, Saturday July 1 at 11 a.m.
