WAYNE COUNTY - A Pike County pilot found dead at the scene of an airplane crash July 6th near the Cherry Ridge Airport, died as a result of that crash, Wayne County Coroner Edward Howell reported.
Joseph Paul Kinney, 52, of Dingmans Ferry, was flying the small plane and was the only occupant. Howell stated on July 10th that Kinney died from multiple traumatic injuries, and ruled the death as an accident. An autopsy was conducted.

The plane came down in a wooded area, around 4:30 p.m. PA State Police, Honesdale, and White Mills Fire Department and EMS were dispatched. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash.
