HONESDALE - On Saturday, July 22 at 2 p.m., 1000 numbered bags of coal will be dropped from Texas #4’s bucket truck onto a target below.
Coal was a huge part of the industrial revolution. And the industrial revolution is a huge part of Steampunk. What better way for the Greater Honesdale Partnership to raise money towards the continuing promotion of Honesdale than to hold a Coal Drop Raffle.
Raffle tickets are being sold in Honesdale by Apple Day Spa & Hair Restoration Salon, 152 Grandview Ave; Complete Health Dentistry of NEPA, 3373 Lake Ariel Hwy; The Dime Bank, 820 Church Street; Fins and Feathers, 222 Willow Ave; Ghiggeri’s Fine Olive Oils & Balsamics, 742 Main Street; Honesdale Green House Flower Shop, 1043 Main Street; MB’s Shear Expressions, 530 Main Street; Trackside Grill, 734 Main Street; Wayne Bank, 717 Main Street; and by members of the GHP’s Special Events committee for $5.00 each.
They will also be available at the GHP/Dime Bank table near the Fred Miller Pavilion on Main Street during Steampunk Honesdale, July 21 and July 22, until noon on Saturday. There are seven prizes total, with the grand prize being $500.00 in “coal”, hard, cash! Please contact the GHP at 570-253-5492 for ticket locations or more information.
One raffle ticket buys you one numbered bag of coal and one chance to win. The seven bags closest to the bullseye are the winners. You need not be present to win. “So take a chance, support the GHP and Honesdale, and be sure to enjoy all the festivities at Steampunk Honesdale which is sponsored by The Dime Bank,” said Gail Tucker, Greater Honesdale Partnership Executive Director.
