PALMYRA TWP. (Pike) - A State Police report is pending on an automobile crash Saturday that claimed the life of Steven Boo, age 22, who was a fireman with Forest Volunteer Fire Department in Kimbles, Lackawaxen Township.

The crash occurred on Route 507 in Palmyra Township, Pike County, while he and a his girlfriend were on their way to the Wayne County Fair, WNEP-TV reported. His girlfriend survived the crash.

Tafton and Promised Land fire departments were dispatched to the scene at 2:26 p.m., on Route 507. Tafton Ambulance and Medic 404-2 LV were also summoned.

Boo joined Forest Volunteer Fire Department when he was 17. Chief Wayne Rosegrant and Michelle Mansion, both active with the fire company spoke on camera for WNEP’s report, about what Steven Boo meant to them and their department.
