HONESDALE - Wayne Memorial is relocating two services from the Stourbridge Professional Complex in Honesdale: Wayne Memorial Rehabilitation Services and Wayne Memorial Home Health & Hospice.
Wayne Memorial Rehabilitation Services (WMRS), which offers physical, occupational and speech therapy, is moving to 190 Delaware Street, across from Bold’s Florist on Willow Avenue. WMRS also operates a rehabilitation services site at the Route 6 Mall, and that will remain where it is.
WMRS/Stourbridge will become WMRS/Delaware Street in mid-September. The new space, approximately 4,700 square feet, is slightly larger than the previous one, which was on the second floor at the Stourbridge Complex. The new location is on the ground floor.
“We’re very pleased that our new site offers convenient access for all our patients, including those in wheelchairs,” says Terri Henderson, OT, manager of WMRS. “The phone number will remain the same – 570-253-7325—which is also a plus.”
Henderson points out that WMRS offers specialty rehabilitation services as well as general physical, occupational and speech therapy. “We also have staff skilled in lymphedema therapy, oncology or cancer rehabilitation and the BIG and LOUD program for Parkinson’s patients."
Home Health & Hospice
Wayne Memorial Home Health & Hospice is moving on or about August 22nd to 116 West 11th Street, a cluster of buildings behind Turkey Hill and adjacent to Wayne Memorial’s riverside parking lot. “We are happy to be closer to the hospital where many of our patients start their journey with us,” said Lisa Grecco, RN, manager Home Health & Hospice. “We’re looking forward to the move.”
Home Health & Hospice will also retain its current phone number, 570-253-8431.
The relocation of both services will allow for expansion of Behavioral Health Services at the Stourbridge Complex, says James Hockenbury, director Ancillary Services, “and this is something our community has wanted for a long time.”
