TAFTON - A collection of resources for the victims of Hurricane Harvey is underway in the region.

Kathy Keegan of Kathy's License Service is asking for donations of: clothing, water, food, rain gear, tarps, rope, work gloves, blankets, mud boots, first aid, personal hygiene, batteries, solar lights, trash bags, water pumps, generators, gas cans, fuel, tools, chain saws, hammers, screwdrivers, nails, wood, sand bags, diapers, formula, rubber gloves, paper towels, dog food, cat food, kitty litter and financial donations are appreciated as well.

Honesdale National Bank is working with local businesses to arrange trucks to haul the collection to those in need. The items being sought can be left at either of Keegan’s two offices and she will ensure they are sorted and sent to Texas.

Keegan’s offices are located at 156 Rt. 507 in Tafton near Pipolo’s Eats and Sweets and her other office at 1225 North Main Street in Honesdale.

Having lost everything in a fire years ago, Keegan said she understands what the people are going through as they look at their homes and see what remains after the flooding. Keegan said she hopes to show those affected that they aren’t alone in their struggles.
