HONESDALE - Honesdale Borough Council adopted new parking permit regulations and fees at its September 18, 2017, Council meeting when it adopted a new Chapter 195 of the Code of the Borough of Honesdale and associated fee schedule.

Property owners and landlords or registered agents must complete an application to be eligible for the parking permits at metered parking spaces east of Church Street at 10-hour meters or the non-metered parking spaces on West Street. Rental registration licenses and taxes must be current to file an application. Applications can be downloaded from the Borough’s website, honesdaleborough.com under the parking section of the department and services tab beginning September 27.

Borough staff will be available from noon until 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, at Borough Hall, 958 Main Street, Honesdale, to issue permits to eligible residents or landlords. Applications need to be completed prior to arriving. Proof of identification with current address and license plate numbers will be required.

The Borough fee schedule lists the prices as follows:

Property Owner/Tenant Residential Permit for Metered Parking /East of Church Street
Property Owner ..............$50.00 each for the first two permits; Each additional permit, $10.00
Note: Borough taxes must be current at all times.

Permits secured by Landlord for Tenants per dwelling unit..............$50.00 each for the first two permits. Each additional permit, $10.00;
Note: All rental registrations/inspections and licenses need to be paid prior to issuance. Borough taxes must be current at all times.

Property Owner ..............$50.00 each for the first two permits; Each additional permit, $10.00 Note: Borough taxes must be current at all times.
