SALEM TWP. – Dollar General’s newest store at 1418 Hamlin Highway, Route 590 in Salem Township, a short distance east of The Hideout’s main gate - is now open. 

In its new location, Dollar General will offer area residents a convenient new place to shop for everyday essentials at low prices, according to store officials.

Dollar General will celebrate the store’s official grand opening on Saturday, October 14 at 8 a.m. with free prizes and special deals.  Additionally, the first 50 adult shoppers at the store will receive a $10 Dollar General gift card and the first 200 shoppers will receive a Dollar General tote bag with complimentary product samples, among other giveaways.

“Dollar General is committed to delivering a pleasant shopping experience that includes a convenient location, a wide assortment of merchandise and great prices on quality products,” said Dan Nieser, Dollar General’s senior vice president of real estate and store development.  “We hope our area customers will enjoy shopping at Dollar General’s new location.”

The store is actually in Arlington, just east of Ledgedale Road.

In August 2017, a Dollar General store opened further east on the same highway (745 Purdytown Turnpike, Route 590), just east of Lakeville (Uswick).

There are also Dollar General stores nearby, at Hamlin (490 Hamlin Highway, Route 590) and in Lake Ariel village (1440 Lake Ariel Highway, Route 191, opened in October 2016).

Other Dollar General store locations in Wayne County include Hawley Borough, Newfoundland, Beach Lake, Honesdale area (Rt. 6 Plaza) and Waymart Borough. The Hawley and Beach Lake stores opened in 2015.

Pike County store locations include Greentown, Milford area (Rt. 6/209) and Dingman’s Ferry.
