HONESDALE - The Maple City Jazz Festival begins this Friday, November 17 with Andy Milne trio.
These talented musicians on the piano, bass and drums are making their way to Honesdale from NYC to share their beats and rhythm on The Cooperage Project stage.
For more than 20 years, pianist/composer Andy Milne has demonstrated boundless versatility, collaborating with dancers, visual artists, poets and musicians spanning jazz, classical, pop, folk, and world music. At the piano he skillfully blends poetic gravitas with a playful sense of order. With his newest group, Milne returns to his first love. Enriched with creative insights from all his projects, he rediscovers the intimacy of the piano trio. This group organically explores complimentary threads within the fabric of Milne’s piano trio philosophy — the intersection of texture and groove.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m. with doors opening at 7 p.m. Suggested donation: $15 advance, $20 at the door. This event is BYOB. The Cooperage is found at 1030 Main Ave., Honesdale.
