HONESDALE - Franklin Bates of Honesdale was more than happy to receive a little holiday cheer in the form of a living plant from the Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Bates, a patient in the hospital’s Good Shepherd Inpatient Rehabilitation Center, was one of more than 50 hospitalized patients who were offered the holiday plants today.
Close to 110 other plants were also distributed to residents at Wayne Woodlands Manor, Wayne Memorial’s long-term care home in Waymart. The Auxiliary traditionally gives plants to patients during the Christmas and Easter holiday seasons.
“It’s something we enjoy doing, and we think the patients appreciate it, too,” said Auxilian Dottie Wilcox. She had help with deliveries on December 18th from Carol Chalmers and Karen Burlein.
