Mary Patricia (Pat) Andres, 87, passed away peacefully on Dec. 16, 2017 at her home in the company of good friends and family. She was the wife of Richard Andres and daughter of the late Stanley and Marian Leslie.
Pat was born in Yonkers, New York on Nov. 1, 1930. She grew up in Honesdale, PA and lived there with her first husband, the late Joe Stegner. Her passion was theater, where she played lead in the “Three Penny Opera” and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolfe.” She moved to Barnstable, MA in 1970 and became active in the Comedy Club, the Veteran’s Food Pantry, town government, and the Disabilities Commission.
Pat was an amazing friend to people of all ages and had a lovely faith. She adored wearing fashionable outfits and beautiful shoes. An excellent cook, she delighted in having a house full of company for dinner and sharing the produce from her garden. She would like to be remembered as a generous and giving person.
Pat was sister to the late Richard Leslie, and Robert and Liz Leslie of Santa Barbara, and aunt to Richard Leslie Jr., Debra and Patrick Leslie. Pat is survived by Neil and Lori Andres of Barnstable, Donald and Amy Andres of Foxboro, Evan and Mary Andres of Owings Mills, Frank and Magdalena Andres of Jamestown, RI and Mary and Richard Shearley of Centerville. Pat is also survived by 9 grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Centerville Library on January 6, 2018 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Centerville Library at 585 Main St., Centerville, MA 02632.
