Of her oil on canvas paintings she believes that art comes from within; it cannot come from a formula or a set of predefined conditions. Her subjects include birds, animals, winter-themed holiday subjects and still lifes. Of her work Patty says: “Creativity is my life.”

Koch is a self-taught artist with nearly 50 years of art experience. She started working on cartoons at a young age, then continued taking watercolor workshops with the late teacher Matilde Grech. Lately she has been working in oils on canvas. She was featured by Chris Farlekas in his article in the Times Herald-Record’s 2005 on the July “Arts Walk”.  Koch is a member of the River Valley Artists Guild and the Pike County Arts Council, and has participated in many art shows locally.

“Join us in this exhibit celebrating the freedom of expression reflecting the beauty of the artful materials used by Patty Koch, creating poetry from the commonplace,” as stated in the release from the River Valley Artists Guild . “It is a visual banquet of diversity and energy.”
