Suspect identified as Aaron Gould

LAKE ARIEL – Through an active investigation, State Police at Honesdale have identified the man wanted for the February 12th robbery of the NBT Bank in Lake Ariel as Aaron Gould of Lake Ariel. Warrants have been issued for Gould but his whereabouts are currently unknown.
If encountered, call 911 or PSP Honesdale at 570-253- 7126 but do not approach Gould, Pennsylvania State Police warn.

On Friday February 16, photos of Gould were released along with a vehicle description of the Toyota he may be driving.
The suspect is Aaron Gould, a white, non-Hispanic male, age 39 (date of birth 09/04/78).
He is described as 6’02”, between 180-190 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes.
State Police said that Gould is likely in the Scranton area of Lackawanna County.
He is possibly still driving the stolen vehicle, a 2017 Toyota Rav4 with PA Reg #GWW9491, dark gray in color. State Police released a picture of the vehicle, with the suspect said to be  inside.
State Police issued a warning, in capitals: “CAUTION: SHOULD BE CONSIDERED ARMED AND DANGEROUS.”  The State Police bulletin states, “Although weapon used was a pellet rifle, suspect should not be approached.”
The robbery took place at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, February 12. The suspect entered NBT Bank, which is located at 1456 Lake Ariel Highway (Route 191) in the village of Lake Ariel. Wearing a tan trench coat, tan hat and black mask, he brandished what the initial police report described as a “rifle.” He demanded cash from the tellers. He fled from the bank carrying two bags of cash, and took a vehicle parked outside, fleeing in an unknown direction.
Prior to the robbery, the suspect was observed to be a passenger in a late model, gray Subaru Impraza wagon and was dropped off on Lake Ariel Highway just south of NBT Bank. This was at about 1:50 p.m. on Feb. 12th. At that time, the suspect was observed wearing a reddish colored overcoat with a dark colored cap. He was observed to be carrying a large duffle bag.
