HONESDALE - The Pike and Wayne County Commissioners and Hotel Tax Boards have announced they are continuing a joint endeavor with a travel guide.
“We’re looking forward to working with Pike and Wayne Counties again this year on the travel guide,” stated Brian Bossuyt, Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau Vice President of Marketing, “this effort has allowed both counties to pool their resources in attracting visitors to their counties.”
This travel guide will be the premier official stay & play resource guide for visitors coming to the Pike and Wayne Counties in the Pocono Mountains. The expanded Travel Guide and user‐friendly website will enhance the group's proven track record as the go‐to resources for visitors planning a trip or extended vacation in the Pocono Mountains.
For these planning tools to be as comprehensive as possible, local tourism‐related businesses can be listed and their information kept current. Thanks to the county hotel tax funding, the guide can offer a free listing for tourism‐related businesses in the guide, plus full color advertising at very reasonable rates.
This year 90,000 guides will be printed and distributed to 500+ locations throughout PA, NY and NJ including the Interstate Welcome Centers and Pocono Mountains Visitor Centers. The Travel Guide will be accessible on the responsive website, PoconoMountains.com. The county commissioners are pleased to partner on this new joint project with the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau which annually takes an active role in Guide distribution.
Pocono map app
The Pocono Mountains Visitor’s Bureau has launched a user-friendly and mobile-first interactive map on PoconoMountains.com.
This will also carry over in the travel guide with a printed version of the map that can be easily removed from the guide to showcase the entire destination.
This is the beginning of merging the current Wayne and Pike Counties travel guide into a 4-county travel guide to include Monroe and Carbon Counties set to be launched in the Spring of 2019. “We’ve seen the success over the past couple of years with this guide,” stated Bossuyt, “along with the data we have on our visitors and requests for more information we’re now going to expand this guide into an Official Pocono Mountains Travel Guide to cover the entire region of the Pocono Mountains.”
Bailey Design & Advertising in Honesdale has published the Travel Guide for the last nine years and has again been chosen to design, coordinate advertising and publish this new all‐inclusive guide.
