HAWLEY - No sign of Goldilocks, but three bears were seen running across busy U.S. Route 6, Bellemonte Avenue in Hawley, Monday morning May 14, just before noon. They crossed from a grassy area just below the Cocoon Coffeehouse parking area, towards Fern Street. Someone suggested they may have been “dumpster diving” and were on their rounds. Watching the bears scamper across the highway is a reminder that we share the land with wildlife; to drive with care and to remember the PA Game Commission’s advice not to feed the bears or leave pet food or trash they can easily take.
