NEWFOUNDLAND - The new mascot for the GDS Fair, Connie the Cow, debuted at the Armed Forces Veterans Day Parade in Scranton on May 19. Although the weather was rainy, it did not dampen the joy Connie brought to all and the fun of seeing the 1922 Chevy Huckster Wagon giving her a ride past the onlookers lining the parade route.
Discount half price tickets were available from Connie to all veterans for the August 29 Salute to Veterans Day.
More tickets will be available at the GDS Flea Market/Craft Show free event scheduled for Saturday, May 26th at the Newfoundland Fairgrounds, Rts. 191 & 507 behind the South Elementary school.
Entry and free parking also is available through the Crestmont Drive entrance. Over 60 vendor/crafters displaying items for sale and with food available for purchase. All are welcome to share a day of fun with the GDS Fair family.
Connie the Cow is looking to visiting more surrounding communities.
The 101st Greene-Dreher-Sterling (GDS) Fair is set for August 24th through September 2nd. Check for updates at the website, www.gdsfair.com.
