WALLENPAUPACK - The Commencement Program for the 2018 Senior Class of Wallenpaupack Area High School was held outside under warm, partly cloudy skies on the football field in front of a packed bleacher section at 7 p.m. on Friday evening, June 15.
The school band played the National Anthem which was sung by John Rossitto leading the crowd.
A welcoming address by Class President Laura Carr set the stage for Zane Blau, Valedictorian and Giulianna Iona, Salutatorian to make their remarks. Zane, most likely drawing on something instilled by his coaches in the football program pointed out that hard work trumps good luck. Giulianna, tongue in cheek, contemplated all the courses that had been completed during high school with the daunting upcoming tasks, routinely done by adults in everyday real life, that are not part of the curriculum.
